Ken Finkleman is best known as the writer, creator and producer of the award winning CBC Television series THE NEWSROOM, in which he also starred as news producer George Findlay. Finkleman produced a number of other series for Canadian television as well, including MARRIED LIFE, FOOLISH HEART, FOREIGN OBJECTS and MORE TEARS. In the 1980’s Finkleman wrote the screenplays for a number of Hollywood films – including the sequels GREASE 2, AIRPLANE II, and the Madonna film WHO’S THAT GIRL? His more recent work includes AT THE HOTEL, a six part mini-series that debuted on CBC in 2006. Currently, he is writing a novel for Harper Collins and a new six part TV series for TMN.

PRIVATE EYES by Yolanda Beasley
New York theatre actress Avery Johnson moves to L.A. to star in a resurrected ‘80s action-adventure series called Private Eyes. The new series picks up where the original left off twenty-five years earlier — with the original characters’ progeny as Private Eyes searching for their missing parents. Avery struggles to fit in with the LA lifestyle as the revived series is met with mixed reviews on and off set.

THE BLACK DONNELLYS by Robert Fidler
What makes a whole family evil?  What makes a whole town decide to kill? It’s 1850’s small town Ontario: In search for land, the family of James and Johanna Donnelly escape from Ireland bound for a new life. But when an enemy of James is murdered, the family is targeted and labelled the “Black Donnellys”, beginning a bloody feud between them and the entire townspeople of Lucan. The Black Donnellys is the pilot for an hour-long 13-episode drama, the story unfolding as we watch from different character’s point of views.
