Named a “Creative Leader” by local media, Yolanda Beasley is an award-winning media artist, screenwriter, filmmaker and actress. She founded WriteforHollywood.com, a screenwriting mentor site which drew more than 500,000 screenwriters annually worldwide.

Yolanda began her career as a media planner in the UK and Toronto, quickly becoming known for highly creative and innovative media plans on clients such as IBM, Unilever, Nestle, Johnson & Johnson, and Kraft.

After leaving the agency world, her work as an actress, model, screenwriter, and director led her to produce commercial creative for television, radio, print, Internet, and outdoor media. She was credited with rebranding and reviving the image of Whitby Chamber of Commerce and won an award for it.

Yolanda has been featured on Rogers TV, CHEX TV, CITY TV, CBC’s Venture, Oshawa This Week, and Playback Magazine.  Acclaimed screenwriter/showrunner Ken Finkleman was impressed with her work, calling it “intricate” and she was a quarterfinalist in the Final Draft Big Break Screenwriting Contest.

She is an ACTRA member, a former member of LIFT and WIFT. She’s a former executive of LIFT Out Loud Screenwriting series, LIFT’s screenwriting circle, and in 2017 she taught Screenwriting and Directing at Durham College.
