Bio

Yolanda Beasley is a writer/actor/improviser.  A former advertising executive, Yolanda knows a thing or two about what makes people tick and what sells.  She obtained a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Western Ontario in business and went on to study screenwriting at Ryerson University and U.C.L.A..  Through her memberships with LIFT (the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers Toronto) and WIFT (Women in Film and Television) she absorbed everything she could about filmmaking.

Yolanda has been writing and performing from a young age.  Consistently involved in school plays, choirs, gymnastics, piano, and dance, this eventually led to modeling and ultimately acting.  She directed and hosted a live call-in television show for three years, produced her first stage play Six Month’s Flat at the Toronto Fringe Festival, and then worked for a Toronto broadcaster.

The last few years, Yolanda has been involved in the Toronto improv community performing with the Impatient Theatre Company on various troupes such as Pantry of Creams and The Six Bunches Gang.  The company director has described her as “$#%’ing hilarious”.  Her recent television appearances include Mob Stories II and Urban Legends.  Look for her in an upcoming theatre production…details to come!
